Just a couple months ago, Matt Danzico posted a video on his website asking for the goodwill of people around America to drive house and feed him on an 80 day trip around the U.S. I linked to it then, mentioning that I had offered him lodging and a ride. A few days ago, he showed up and stayed the night.
We had a great time. I showed him dinosaur footprints near my house, fed him lots of food, and he shot some video of our adventures.
Matt’s a great guy, and we got to talk a lot given the short amount of time he was in town. I find it fascinating people’s reactions to his trip. Lots of people cautioned him that it was extremely dangerous to trust people like this. People even cautioned me about letting a stranger into our home. It’s really strange. Despite our culture moving toward a more open, socially connected atmosphere, I don’t think that has tended to make us much more trusting as a society; yet, I didn’t …

Radiohead’s new album will be available as a download or deluxe disc box. You name the price for the download (released tomorrow!). However if you purchase the disc box you get the download plus loads of treats, including artwork, LPs, new songs and the In Rainbows disc. I’ll be interested to find out, if they release any figures, how many people went for just the download (£40 for the discbox a good little pile of money). And I’d definitely like to know what people are naming as their price. You can put 0.00 in as the price.
I’m not usually one for pixel fonts, but this one is pretty nice. Bonus points for the fun effects one gets when playing with kerning and linespacing. Doubleplus good points in that you get the excellent Chameleon pixel icons as a part of the font. Well done, Dan!
Anna’s been writing some how-to articles lately on her crafty efforts around the house. This one has delicious results to which I can attest. She’s also been taking some amazing photos. Cool stuff!
