Our Futon is Your Futon, come any time.

And an Unrelated Matter: Note the added archives section on the sidebar.

So, we bought our first home, and each night we bed down on a futon while we wait for our stuff to arrive. All signs point to Wednesday being the day we get our furniture, boxes, dishes, etc.

We got the futon from Billy and Kathleen some friends of ours who are getting married this weekend and thus find themselves combining two apartments of furniture into one.

Billy and I moved the futon, another futon, and a few various other furniture items this weekend using my aunt’s El Camino. Boy was that fun. I tried to adjust a few mirrors and stuff to get it to where it felt right, but then found if I just eased down in the seat and relaxed a bit, then everything looked right. I needed to adapt to the El Camino lifestyle.

Also, many of you really want to see a picture of the house. We’re working on that. I just need to unpack the cable for my digital camera.

Anna and I visited Dan and his brother Phil while passing through the northwest.

Dan cooked us some Thai, showed us his video of Uganda and let us connect to the interweb.

We got a wonderful email today from someone who just happened upon our website.

This person happened to be searching the internet looking for pictures or whatnot about the sign post forest in Watson Lake, Yukon. I think we are Result Number Two. This says a lot about Google. We’ve been known to show up pretty high in the results for a few other odd searches.

The aforementioned emailer was delighted when she found Watchtan.com and all the pictures we had there of our time in Alaska. It was fantastic “fan mail” and made me think that maybe there are a few other mysterious people out there who read our websites.

Monday evening, we hop on a ferry and head to the lower 48. We’re doing lots of packing and preparing in the meantime.

Today (Thursday), the new innkeeper, Jorie, arrives at the Summer Inn to begin training to take over Anna’s job.

Today also, I’m moving Watchtan to a new home, so if things break, worry not, just come back a little later, things should be just fine then. In fact, if you see this message right here, I suppose everything worked. More on that later.
