Did you get any “extras”?
I’ve been riding to work lately. The streets here aren’t too bike friendly though. Sometimes I think one a mirror of some sort would be helpful to see behind while I am on main roads—just have to get over the dorkiness factor.

Peter, you might try a helmet mirror – its smaller and maybe a bit less dorky than a handlebar mirror. Also, I’ve seen mirrors that retract into the handlebar when not in use – they’re quite small but might be a good compromise for you.

I did get a few extras. The main one was a rack for some saddlebags I intend to purchase. Then I wont have to carry a backpack with me. Another option for you Peter: I’ve seen clip-on mirrors for your sunglasses, they look like dental mirrors.
