I returned to Alaska on Saturday night. It was a crazy, exciting, exhausting and worthwhile trip. I welcome being back, though, for the following reasons:
- My Dear Wife wasn’t with me on the trip. We’re not apart often, so when we are, it’s tough.
- Every time I visit Denver I’m crazy busy all the time and don’t have much time to relax. This trip was no exception. I ran all over the Denver area meeting with mortgage brokers, looking at house after house after house, and trying to get a bit of work done too. This happens partly because I’m cramming 6 months of life into 10 days of “vacation”, and partly because I’m trying to enjoy the “big city” as Haines has just 2,500 people, and Denver has… well…. more.
- Denver, Colorado, while a beautiful city with amazing views, pales in comparison to the raw beauty of Haines, Alaska.
Yes, I am glad to be back, and I feel like I’m in the home stretch of our time here. We move in early June – that’s less than 2 months away.
